Drawing since age five, Gerry Greene taught herself by copying the comic section of the Detroit News, back in the 30’s.

Her formal art education started in her teens at Cass Tech where she studied Commercial Art, but she set an art career aside to raise a family of five. During that time, she found ways to express creativity by commissioning pet portraits in detailed pen and ink. In her mid 40's, Gerry took up oil painting by attending the College of Creative Studies and has been oil painting ever since.
